Maintenance strategies to improve the reliability of ball mill main bearings

In the process of cement production, the stable operation of the ball mill is very important. According to statistics, the transmission system failure accounts for about 82% of the main problems of the ball mill, of which the main bearing failure accounts for about 20%. In view of this, this paper puts forward the following suggestions for the maintenance of the main bearing of the ball mill: 

 

Application of static and dynamic main bearing technology: In order to solve the friction problem when starting at full load, the use of static and dynamic main bearing, through the high pressure oil station in advance to establish the oil film, to ensure that the starting moment between the journal and the bearing shell full liquid friction, to protect the safety of equipment.

 

Optimized bearing clearance design: A reasonable bearing radius clearance is essential to form an effective lubricating film and reduce friction power consumption. The appropriate gap size should be selected according to the specific working conditions to ensure that it is neither large nor small, so as to maintain a good lubrication effect.

 

Control the contact Angle range: Appropriately reduce the contact Angle between the spherical tile and the hollow shaft journal (usually less than 35°), which helps to improve the oil film formation efficiency, promote heat dissipation, and avoid damage to the tile surface when starting.

 

Careful treatment of the surface characteristics of the spherical tile: In practice, it is found that inappropriate slotting or polishing treatment may destroy the original good run-in state, but is not conducive to the formation of oil film. Therefore, in the absence of special needs, the original surface characteristics should be maintained as far as possible.

 

Pay attention to the coordination accuracy of the spherical tile and the tile seat: ensure that the spherical tile has enough activity space to avoid local pressure concentration caused by excessive contact, resulting in the risk of burning the tile. Correctly adjust the contact Angle and width between the tile back and the tile seat to prevent adverse effects.

 

In summary, by taking the above targeted measures for the main bearing of the ball mill, it can effectively improve its working reliability, extend its service life and ensure the continuity of production.
